Rhinoplasty:
Congenital nasal deformities like large nose, with a bony hump or wide and hypertrophic
tip can be faced by Rhinoplasty, the most frequent cosmetic procedure. The operation
can be performed by genera] or local anaesthesia and usually it needs one night
hospital accommodation. Postoperative pain is minimum and nasal packing if used
is removed after 24 hours. The nasal splint is left for 7 days and by next day
patient can start social activities. One month after the date of surgery we
are close to the end results. Sport activities can be started at that time.
Septorhinoplasty: For cases with deviated
nasal septum and/or hypertrophic nasal turbinate with breathing insufficiency
septoplasty and conchotomy can be combined with rhinoplasty at the same time.
Pieces of excised cartilage can be used in order to enhance the aesthetic results
and breathing capacity.
Reconstructive RhinoNasty: Posttraumatic
nasal deformities with severely damaged nasal bony and cartilaginous framework
can be corrected by rhinoplasty techniques. Exact diagnosis should be made after
careful examination and more expanded techniques can be applied for such reconstructions.
Rhinonhyma: Extremely hypertrophic nasal
tip, Rhinophyma, can be easily reconstructed by laser ablation with Erbium-Yag
or CO2 laser resurfacing.
